Skehard Pharmacy was established in September 1975, initially named Blairs Chemists, it was founded by former Alderman of Cork City Council John Blair and was developed in addition to the Blairs Chemist on Patrick Street which ceased trading in 1984. In 1980 the pharmacy was taken over by Gillian Murphy who renamed it Skehard Pharmacy and continued to serve there for 44 years before her retirement. In 2024 the business was taken over by Paddy Lehane who is continuing the tradition of service to the local communities of Blackrock, Mahon and Ballintemple.
